A pretty fun read! I enjoyed this entry a lot, much less confusing map than the previous one. The story felt funnier than book #3. I feel like the world is expanding and the intensity of the plot and the stakes are increasing and are now feeling a lot more real for the protagonists.

The setting and mechanics are still very reminiscent of MMOs to me, which I'm enjoying a lot. I don't feel like the series is very strong in several aspects, like the prose or the depth of some social concepts, but it's been tremendously entertaining to me nevertheless. Also, I'm not catching many of the television and pop culture references, but it's ok; don't know if these are books that will age well though, might get worse with time. The narration is brilliant and hilarious. The maniacal withering spirit that wants to kill everyone's mother cracked me up. The boss battles were very exciting.

This book saw the introduction of a pantheon as well, which is a bit confusi...
