Super fast read, quite enjoyable to read after seeing the show.

This is the last book in the trilogy, and it'll be added to my quest for books that brought a tear to your eye. Part of me wishes I'd read the three books together rather than spread across a decade, but I also feel like I might not have appreciated it as fully if I'd read this final story a decade ago, given where I've come in life.
This is a book that I hope everyone reads. It presents the problems that we as a culture/species face and analyzes them in a kind of Socratic way, not giving the answers immediately, but by engaging in a conversation and eliciting solutions. There are solutions to the problems we face, and we're not doomed yet, but we will be if we don't take the initiative and begin to change.
Please read this trilogy, it is an enjoyable read and it's really inspiring! Ishmael the first book was part of the readings that led me to move from the US to Mexico.

I read a review earlier today that said this book was hard to read, but I am posting this review to disagree. It's probably the darkest grey book I've ever read, but I didn't think it was hard to read.

I deeply and sincerely hope you read this book. I hope lots of people read this book. Nearly everything he said struck a chord with the way that I feel about how the world is going wrong. I found myself thinking, "Thank you for putting that down in words, that's how I feel!" and "It's sad, but it's true" many times throughout.
That said... Be prepared for some sections that are emotionally hard to read because of how true they are and how dire his prognosis and forecasts might seem. I almost gave up on this book part way through because it was making me anxious, but I'm very, very glad I heeded the words of a friend and soldiered on. It gets better, and ends much more positively.
Tl;dr - It's an amazing book that referenced a lot of books that I added to my Under Consideration list, and it's 100% worth the effort, but it's a challenging read in some parts.

Very fun fantasy serial! It's one of those that you can't put down.

This was a very fun and easy read. It is about young adults and I think I would've given it a 95 when I was a young adult. The pace is very very fast - each chapter has something meaningful happening to advance the story, and almost all of the chapters left me wondering what would happen next.
Having more perspectives than just the one main guy would've been nice for some variety and different interpretations of their shared experiences. It'd also widen the view of where they are, and make for a more filled-out universe I think, as the main characters split up at some points, and we don't really know what happened to them at all.
I think I would've given a 95 or 100 if they'd had more perspectives. It was a very enjoyable story and very easy to read, I read the 880 currently published chapters in about a week and a half! It was hard to put down.
