I listened to this book on Spotify. After reading Spooky Rivers and enjoying it, I wanted to read Spooky Lakes too. I enjoyed reading this book. I’ve never read a book about spooky lakes before. I haven’t ever read any books that explore the science of water.

I listened to this book on Spotify. The publisher sent me a hardcover copy of this book a long time ago and I finally got around to reading it. I decided to DNF this book at 41%. This book is too depressing for me. The synopsis says that this book is ironically upbeat for being about a morbid topic but I don’t think that’s accurate. This isn’t the vibe I’m looking for right now. I don’t want to think about death or what song I want to hear playing when I die.

I listened to this book on Spotify. There’s a pdf file included with this book so you know who everyone else that is talking. I enjoyed listening to this book because I listened to Emo and Pop Punk music when I was in high school. At first, I didn’t like the fact that this book was written in interviews and that there’s no narrative or structure and I started thinking that this could’ve been a documentary that you watch because you can at least see who’s talking and what band they’re from. I started trying to read the included pdf file with the audiobook while listening so I could figure out who everyone was but I couldn’t keep up so I stopped trying to track it while listening. I decided to continue listening just so I could hear the band stories and I thought it was really cool. I ended up really enjoying the oral history format of this book and I started thinking to myself that I could enjoy this format as long as it’s a book about a topic that I’m interested in. This was a different format than what I’m used to reading in my nonfiction books.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a physical ARC of this book! I listened to this book on Spotify. I was playing a game on my iPad while listening to this book. The game is called Beauty Blast. It’s a makeover game but it also has a story line. Every time I complete a makeover on one of the game characters, I get to unlock more of the story. It’s really fun. It’s been my favorite game to play recently. Anyway, I wanted to read this book because I like playing games on my iPad and I’ve never read a book that talked about games or game theory. I didn’t always understand everything that the author was talking about because this book has a lot of science in it but I didn’t care because I enjoyed reading the book and I think it’s interesting that I was playing a game on my iPad while reading a book about games.
