Guide to Storylace Expeditions

Welcome to the Grand Aventure!

Storylace Expeditions are complementary game adventures fueled entirely by your real-world reading. Send your Kinsprits on missions to different worlds, power them up by logging your reading progress, and team up with friends for an easier path to victory. Earn loot, exclusive rewards, and evolve your kinsprits. Your story begins now.

Expeditions are fueled by your reading. You can read any physical book, e-reader, or audiobook—the choice is yours.

• Tracking Pages: Every time you update your reading progress or mark a book as finished on Storylace, you generate Contribution Points (CP).
• Advancing the Journey: The CP you earn fills your active Expedition’s progress bar.
• Claiming Loot: As your progress bar passes milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%), you can claim the loot: Kinsprit Coins, energy, items and powerful relics.
• No Time Limit or Failure: Expeditions are not time-bound, so you can never fail. Once completed, they can be replayed for more coins, energy, and to unlock other relics.

Kinsprit Progression

Your Kinsprit is a little soul adapting to the vast realities of these worlds. Every page you log grants your Kinsprit energy, allowing it to level up all the way to 100.

Kinsprit Aspects

A reflection of your kinsprits' personalities. These are their emotional, intellectual and philosophical inclinations towards different deep soul-searching questions. You can choose up to 3 Aspects for your Kinsprit to define their personality and generate a unique title. There are 15 different classes:

Arcanist

What forces shape the world?

Arcanists perceive the energy currents that flow through every world they visit, seeking to understand how these hidden forces interact. They are scientists of these primordial energies and interconnected systems. They harness, bend, manipulate and cast magic with such focus and willpower as to reveal the mysteries behind what truly shapes worlds.

There are no level requirements to join an expedition! All expeditions are open to any Kinsprit, but you'll need to complete some to unlock others. Expeditions are categorized by their overall length (CP requirement, which is roughly equivalent to the number of pages you need to read to complete the expedition):

• Short: Requires 150 CP per player.
• Standard: Requires 250 CP per player.
• Epic: Requires 400 CP per player.
• Behemoth: Requires 600 CP per player.

Maximizing your Contribution Point (CP) generation comes down to strategy and daily habits:

• Daily Streaks: Maintaining a daily reading log triggers a Daily Streak CP Bonus, which increase 2% every day up to 20%.
• Critical Read Bonus: Every time you check in more than 15 pages, you have a 15% chance to trigger a critical success, granting an immediate burst of additional 15% CP.
• Daily Cap: You can contribute up to 1000 pages worth of progress across all expeditions each day.
• Pacing the Adventure: To savor the journey and encourage healthy reading habits, each expedition has a daily cap.

The Atlas features distinct worlds, each with unique expeditions scaled across 4 length difficulties (Short, Standard, Epic, and Behemoth). Longer expeditions present a greater reading commitment but reward you with significantly more Kinsprit energy and coins.

Storygazer Membership

While many expeditions are open to all players, a Storygazer Membership unlocks the entire Atlas, giving you access to all expeditions. Plus your support helps us continue to create new worlds and adventures for everyone to enjoy!

Gathering Treasures

Opening milestone and completion chests rewards you with Kinsprit Coins, energy to level up your Kinsprit, world-specific tokens and relics.

Equipping Relics

Your Kinsprit can equip up to 5 Relics simultaneously. Relics are special treasures you can gather from different worlds to customize your Kinsprit Card and showcase your favorite achievements that your little souls carry with them.

Every world features its own specialized shop called the Astral Crucible, run by the mysterious Acrux. Here, you can use your gathered resources to purchase unique Kinsprit cosmetic parts using a dual currency: Kinsprit Coins and the world-specific material token obtained from that world's expeditions.

You don't have to wander the worlds alone. Every Expedition can be played Solo or in a Party.

• Scaled Requirements: Entering an Expedition with friends makes the journey easier! The total CP requirement scales down per person, making teamwork highly efficient.
• The Contribution Board: All party members' contributions are tracked transparently on a dynamic leaderboard.

Important Note: Only players with a Storygazer Membership can join a Storygazer-exclusive expedition. If a Storygazer starts a members-only expedition, non-members will not be able to join the party.

While our worlds are beautifully inspired by the incredible lore of speculative-fiction authors, all Storylace Expeditions are designed as standalone adventures. No prior reading of the source material is required to fully enjoy, explore, and play in these worlds!
