I loved the story and the world! It's so much fun, imaginative and flows nicely. We keep discovering new characters and places as the plot moves forward and it all comes together very well.
Almost all of the story takes place underground and that creates a very unique fantastical atmosphere. I loved spending time there and discovering fun things about this huge cavernous world, it was beautiful!
Regarding characters, I personally liked every single one of the main characters. They're all so different and I got a great sense of each of their personalities even without having their full backstories. I'm very intrigued by the bits and pieces we get and I'm eager to discover more about them in the next books.

A fun and gritty high-fantasy read. The author, Gillian Grant, brings new life to some beloved fantasy archetypes, and adds fresh ideas and captivating world-building. An action-packed, but thoughtful book—definitely recommend! Looking forward to getting into the second book!

Yet what she finds below the surface may change the course of her life forever.

Evren Hanali is an elven hunter who has seen much in her days. But very little of her past could prepare her for the adventure she is about to find herself on. And it all starts with the need for a night of rest.
That need put an unlikely group together, resulting in their downward plunge into...unexpected events, mayhem, and a fight for something larger than themselves.
So, can we just take a minute to talk about how beautiful the cover is for Where the Shadows Beckon? I'm
