when i came across “where the shadows beckon” by chance in january, i didn’t expect to fall in love with the world of eith the way i did. yet here i am, two books down, eager to jump into the third one. i was ready to give this five stars solely for the puppies but there are a few things holding me back from that final 0.5.

I loved this book! I loved book #1 but I liked this one, book #2, even more. It hit me right in the feels multiple times, it was full of strong feelings and surprises.
The setting was just phenomenal. I spent many hours playing Skyrim back in the day, and this book completely transported me to places that felt similar, but with everything feeling new and exciting. There's something majestic about nights in absolute darkness in the middle of the tundra. The imagery was awesome, all the places I visited throughout this book felt unique and memorable.
The world-building is amazing. Book 1 had already provided glimpses of a vast exciting world to be explored, but this book knocked it out of the park in my opinion, I can't wait to discover more about Eith and its history.
