Piranezis gyvena labai neįprastame name – neišmatuojamo dydžio statinyje su galybe kambarių, koridorių ir pasieniuose stūksančiomis statulomis. Salių labirintuose nestinga gyvybės. Du sykius per savaitę Piranezį aplanko vyras, pramintas Kitu. Kartais jis prašo padėti ieškoti informacijos apie name slypinčias Didžias ir Slaptas Žinias, kartais atgabena nesuprantamų, bet labai vertingų daiktų. Kitas – vienintelis Piraneziui žinomas gyvas žmogus, iki šiol name jam pavyko rasti tik keliolikos mirusių žmonių kaulus.
Užsiimdamas įprastais tyrimais Piranezis aptiko dar vieno asmens pėdsakus ir leidosi į paieškas, galinčias atvesti į pasaulį, egzistuojantį anapus to, kurį jis visada pažinojo. Ar bent jau tarėsi pažįstąs.

This was an incredibly beautiful and imaginative story. It has a mystery that I felt was really well planned and executed. It unfolds slowly throughout the book and I found it a super pleasant experience to connect the dots little by little. This is the kind of book that will invite you to come up with theories about what's going on right from the start; I loved that aspect.

This is a very mysterious story about a person who lives in a very mysterious world. I can’t say more because I want to avoid spoilers. The story intrigued me from the start and I finished this book in one day. The language is beautiful and poetic and the ending is a bittersweet. Recommended.
